Further Development of the Silo Ventilation System
In the specified storage technology, it is required to ensure proper and uniform aeration of the bulk materials stored in the silo. During the process, air is introduced through ventilation channels integrated into the floor.
In the vast majority of cases, the airflow through the ventilation system is quite inhomogeneous, which negatively affects the storability of the crop.
To implement the desired development, we built a kinetic model of the interior of the silo using finite element analysis. Based on the data obtained from running the model with varying input parameters, we optimized the airflow pattern of the floor air inlets. After the necessary design modifications, we effectively homogenized the internal flow dynamics map of the crop silo.
